5cr brown sugar, guns seized in Manipur

Imphal: Assam Rifles (AR) jawans seized 2.6 kg of brown sugar worth around Rs 5 crore, guns, bullets and several other items from two vehicles at a remote corner of Chandel district bordering Myanmar, an AR release said on Friday, reports K Sarojkumar Sharma.The arms include a 9mm pistol and two single-barrel bore guns, the statement added. Acting on intelligence on arms, ammunition and contraband in the Y Junction area, troops installed a check post which led to the recovery.
