Women's bill: Kalvakuntla Kavitha plans protests at Jantar Mantar

HYDERABAD: Demanding the Centre to introduce the women’s reservation bill in the current session of Parliament, BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha said she would hold a peacful protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on March 10. Various women’s organisations and leaders from other states would also participate in the protest, she said. “If the BJP has the will, it can pass the bill in Parliament as it has done in the case of three farm laws a couple of years ago,” Kavitha said at a press conference on Thursday.

While responding to a question on a possible arrest of her in the Delhi liquor scam case, Kavitha said she was not scared of any such threats and wondered, “Is BJP arresting me or the investigating agencies.” Kavitha said Prime Minister Narendra Modi often talks about ‘nari shakti’ from Red Fort but in reality, he does nothing for women’s empowerment.
