Telangana elections: No job, no vote, say Pharm D graduates
HYDERABAD: Pharm D graduates across Telangana have decided to boycott voting as they claim the government has failed to create cadres for clinical pharmacists in government-run hospitals. Hundreds of students staged a protest at Dharna Chowk on Sunday. They rued that although over 1,200 students pursue Pharm D course every year, only a meagre 20 percent secure employment. With posters of “no job no vote, no cadre no vote” in their hands, students raised slogans against the Telangana government.
“The government has neglected us by not creating a cadre for clinical pharmacists in government hospitals. Fifty percent of 27,500 pharmacy stores in Telangana have employed unqualified people and the government has not taken any action,” said Shalini B, a Pharm D graduate.
