Surge in dust, air pollution levels in city

Hyderabad: Citizens living in Gandipet and Kokapet areas have raised an alarm over the rise in air pollution levels. On Sunday, a resident from the area, Nitin Bhatia tweeted to IT and MAUD minister KT Rama Rao,“Dust from construction sites is drowning us. Contractors need to spray water so that dust does not rise, easy if they care.” On Sunday, when the same tweet was made, the AQI as per CPCB website in the city was 119, which is above normal range. The minister was quick to take note of the issue and assured action. Several others also voiced similar concerns of dust and noise pollution caused by builders.
