SBI branch manager cheated by cybercrime miscreants in Telangana

PARAKALA: In a shocking incident, State Bank of India (SBI) Parakala branch manager was cheated by the cybercrime miscreants.


Sakal Deo Singh working as manager in the SBI main branch of Parakala lost Rs 2,24,967 from his account.

The incident came to light after he lodged a complaint with Parakala police. According to Sakal Deo Singh, he received a message from 8987861993 stating that "your SBI account has been deactivated, pleass click on the link and update Pan card number immediately".

He saw the message next morning and clicked on the link, immediately the SBI internet banking site was opened and he was asked enter the pass word.

Soon after entering the password, he received a call from 7431829447 asking him that "we have sent an message and click on the same", the manager clicked on the message and entered password, updated Pan card, however it was not updated.

After reaching the branch, he received a new message from another new number 7908754873. On seeing the message, the manager clicked on the same, and spontaneously received message that Rs 99,990 was debited from his account. Immediately after that he got a message that Rs 99,990 was debited from the account and the third message of Rs 24,987 debited from his account.

The police have registered a case and investigation was going on with the cybercrime experts.
