The rain-bearing clouds dumped 69.1mm rainfall on Adilabad overnight, which was the highest in the state. On the other hand, city saw moderate to light showers, with highest rainfall recorded at Patancheru, 1.6mm.

With this, Telangana's stint with poor rain continues. For August, the state has logged only 54.8mm of rainfall as against the normal of 147.5mm.

This poor show of rain occurred due to an extended monsoon break. The state average for monsoon overall, however, is still in 'excess' category with 22% excess recorded as on date owing to July rains. Hyderabad is in normal category with 16% excess than usual for this time of the year.

Meanwhile, India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for various north Telangana districts for Monday after which only light passing showers are expected.
