HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MPs said the Centre gave short shrift to Telangana in the Union Budget and they would raise the issue in parliament. They termed the budget 'anti-farmer and anti-poor' with focus only on poll-bound states like Karnataka.

Addressing reporters, BRS parliamentary party leaders K Keshava Rao and Nama Nageshwara Rao said though the state government sought funds and project sanctions, none of their demands was considered in the budget.

"The budget was discriminatory towards Telangana. There was no mention of farmers, including minimum support price or our Kaleshwaram project. Also, the BJP-ruled, poll-bound state bagged 5,300 crore," Nama Nageshwara Rao said.
