Nigerians held for duping people of Rs 1.6 lakh

HYDERABAD: Cyber Crime sleuths of Hyderabad commissionerate have arrested two Nigerains in separate cases of duping people by posting fake advertisements on e-classifieds portal

Samuel Udom, 24, a Nigerian staying in Bangalore was arrested for duping one D Balakrishna

to the tune of Rs 82,500 by promising to sell an iphone, a One Plus 5T phone and a

digital camera

. Reddy came across the advertisement posted by Udom on ‘Quikr.com’ in January 2018 and deposited the money as advance payment in his bank account. However, Udom did not send the cell phones and camera. “The courier tracking ID given by Udom was fake and the accused lodged a complaint with us,” Additional DCP, Cyber Crime, KCS Raghu Veer said.

In another case, Ngandem Samuel, 33, a Nigerian from Bangalore was held for duping Mohammed Mohsin Ali of ?85,000 through a fake Innova sale advertisement on Quikr.
