MBT, MIM in straight fight

hyderabad: the localities in the chanchalam ward are the strongholds of the majlis bachao tehreek (mbt) since it was formed in 1993. in the forthcoming municipal elections, it will be a straight contest between the mim and mbt to win the seat. chanchalam comes under the chandrayangutta assembly constituency, which was represented by mbt leader md amanullah khan for four terms.in 1999 assembly elections, it was won by akbaruddin owaisi with a slim margin of votes. mbt secured more votes in all the localities that are presently in the chanchalam ward during the last assembly elections.
