HYDERABAD: A delegation of nine leftist parties led by Communist Party of India (CPI) state secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy met Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC) secretary T B Narasimha Rao and submitted a memorandum on Friday objecting to the proposed hike in power tariff.

disclosing this in a press release, sudhakar reddy said that according to sub-section 5 of section 26 of andhra pradesh electricity reforms act 1998, the transco and discoms should submit their tariff proposals 90 days in advance to the aperc of the ensuing financial year, but they have submitted 22 days late than the stipulated time. he alleged that companies were acting as tools to serve the political interests of the ruling party.
