HYDERABAD: Though it is over a week after a postal bag containing SSC (Class X) answer scripts of nine students went missing, postal and police personnel are yet to trace it.
The two departments have pressed into service specials teams to scour the stretch between Utnoor sub-post office and bus stand to locate the bag, which went missing on April 3. "Though from day one, postal and police departments are continuing their search for the missing bag, we are yet to get any clue about it," postmaster general (PMG), Hyderabad region, PVS Reddy told TOI on Monday.
"It was a big mistake by our employee. A departmental inquiry has been launched against the employee. The staff has also been placed under suspension. No CCTVs were installed, so it is tough to ascertain whether it fell out of the auto," the official said. "It is a challenging task as it involves the future of the nine students. The Telangana postal circle has requested the Utnoor police to send a report on the progress of their searches," the official added. Postal officials have tightened delivery of SSC exam answer script bundles.
