HC to hear plea on Vyooham on Jan 30

Hyderabad: A division bench of the Telangana high court comprising Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice J Anil Kumar on Thursday said it would hear the appeal filed by makers of Telugu movie ‘Vyooham’ on Jan 30. The film's release was stalled after a single judge, following a plea by TDP, quashed its censor certificate.
TDP has claimed the movie was made at the behest of its political rivals with the sole aim to defame the party and its president N Chandrababu Naidu. The movie directed by Ram Gopal Varma is said to be based on AP chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Senior counsel A Venkatesh, appearing for the film makers, said the petitioner developed apprehensions after seeing the trailer. He wanted the censor board to re-examine the movie within a week. The single judge had given them three weeks.
Appearing for the censor board, additional solicitor general B Narasimha Sarma said they will complete the task within a week.
The bench posted the case to Jan 30.
