The judge sought counters from the authorities by June 6. The judge, however, refused to pass any interim order in the matter. The judge was hearing a petition filed by B Venkatesh and 35 other aspirants who said that there are several examinations pertaining to Group-1 to 4 and hence wanted the authorities to postpone the exams.

Advocate general BS Prasad opposed the idea of postponement and said that the petitioners do not have proper information and they should not be allowed to play with the lives of a huge number of aspirants who have been genuinely preparing for the selection process.

The moment the leakage (of questions) problem surfaced, the authorities immediately cancelled the Group-1 prelims exam and the same is going to be conducted again on June 11. There are no losers in the process because none of the culprits who gained illegal access to the questions could derive any benefit and the whole process was set at naught, the AG said.

"The examinations were cancelled and a fresh test is now going to be held. Genuine candidates will now succeed because authorities have taken foolproof measures. Derailing the process at this stage will affect the candidates," Prasad said.
