HYDERABAD: The Special Investigations and Intelligence Bureau of the Hyderabad unit of Customs and Central Excise on Saturday registered a case of export fraud against a Goan firm following an inspection at the Inland Container Depot in Sanathnagar.

HYDERABAD: The Special Investigations and Intelligence Bureau of the Hyderabad unit of Customs and Central Excise on Saturday registered a case of export fraud against a Goan firm following an inspection at the Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Sanathnagar.
As per the shipping documents submitted to the customs by the Goa-based export firm, Globe Fashion India, their consignment was supposed to have ladies nightwear worth Rs 1.16 crore.

However, the inspections at Sanathnagar Inland Container Depot revealed that it was only junk clothes not fit for human use.
The fraud was committed with the purpose of claiming an export incentive to the tune Rs 13 lakh.
“The goods were stitched out of cut cloth pieces in odd sizes and have no commercial value,� an official release from office of commissioner of Customs and Central Excise on Sunday said.
