From scams to schemes: ‘BRS has changed destiny of state’

Hyderabad: BRS working president and minister KT Rama Rao said Palamuru (erstwhile Mahbubnagar district) was once known for ‘migration’ of people to other states and countries, but now it has been recognised as an ‘irrigation’ district. He also said that Congress was known for ‘scams’ while BRS was known for ‘schemes’. Urging people not to believe Congress’ six guarantees, KTR said they do not have any ‘warranty’. He also claimed that the Congress would provide only three hours power to agriculture sector instead of 24 hours given by BRS. He said that though some opposition parties have been making tall claims, the BRS will score a hat-trick of wins in the next election and KCR will become the CM again. “Telangana is the only state and KCR the only CM in the country to give input subsidy ‘Rythu Bandhu’ worth Rs 73,000 crore apart from other schemes such as insurance and 24x7 free power to the farm sector. At the time of Telangana formation, paddy production in the state was just 68 lakh MTs, now it is 3.5 crore MTs. Telangana has done wonders in paddy production and yet the Centre has been creating hurdles for procurement,” KTR said while addressing a meeting at Sankireddypally in Kothakota mandal in Wanaparthy district on Friday after laying the foundation stone for an oil palm factory. He later also addressed a meeting at Wanaparthy in the evening.Referring to Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS), and many other medium and small irrigation projects completed by the state government in the past few years, KTR said Telangana has emerged as one of the largest paddy producing states in the country. The minister advised farmers to go for alternative crops such as oil palm apart from paddy to make farming profitable. “Now the situation is that we have to import edible oil. The Telangana government is planning to encourage oil palm cultivation in the state and aiming to achieve 20 lakh acres of cultivation this year. The state government has been giving subsidy for oil palm cultivation,” KTR said.

BJP, BRS & Congress prepare models of governance for Telangana voters

Telangana assembly elections: New schemes for ryots, youth & women pivot to BRS manifesto

The BRS party in Telangana is examining various schemes to be included in their poll manifesto for the upcoming assembly elections. They are considering providing farmers with free fertilizers, unemployment allowance, enhanced pensions, and other benefits. The focus this time will be on youth and women. The party aims to combine new schemes with existing ones to provide greater benefits. The Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao, is expected to announce the manifesto on October 16.

State urges Centre not to give nod to Ts irrigation scheme

The Andhra Pradesh government has requested the Indian central government to not grant final clearances to the controversial Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS). The state argues that the scheme violates previous tribunal awards and the allocation of water from the Krishna basin to PRLIS is in violation of the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal award. The Andhra Pradesh government has urged the Centre to consider their objections before making any final decisions regarding PRLIS.
