HYDERABAD: With heavy inflows received on day two, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) officials have opened floodgates of twin reservoirs and the Manjeera barrage.

With the Singur reservoir reaching to the brim on Sunday, five crust gates- 4,5,7,8 and 9- of Manjeera barrage were lifted at a height of 6 feet and 24,400 cusecs of water were discharged. According to P Manikyam, HMWSSB general manager, (Patancheru), who was monitoring the inflows of Singur and Manjeera, the water level of Manjeera on Sunday was 523.14 meters as against its full reservoir level of 523.6 meters.

Meanwhile, 1,788 cusecs of water was discharged through six floodgates of Osmansagar. 330 cusecs of water released from Himayatsagar.
