Eamcet leak: Kingpin identified, arrest soon

HYDERABAD: The

Telangana CID

which is probing the

Eamcet 2 question paper leak

case has achieved a breakthrough in identifying the kingpin of the racket who is reportedly hiding in Bihar. So far as many as 53 accused, including brokers, have been arrested in the case. Special teams of CID, camping in Patna, have zeroed in the kingpin of the racket. “The investigation is at a crucial stage and we are about to crack the whip on the prime accused,“ said a senior official associated with the investigation on condition of anonymity .The sources also declined to reveal the identity of the culprit.

During the annual press conference, director general of police Anurag Sharma said that the state CID was all set to finalize the case in 10 days.

On July 25, 2016 the CID had registered a case under rele vant sections of IPC and other provisions of the

Andhra Pradesh Public Examinations

(Prevention of Malpractices and Unfair means) Act, 1997, after it found, in its preliminary inquiry , grounds to register an FIR.

A probe by the investigating agency also revealed that students appearing for the examination from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were taken to camps set up in at least five cities about two or three days before the exam and were asked to practise with leaked copies of two question papers consisting of 320 questions with correct answers.

Those arrested were identified as Dr Kota Gangadhar Reddy , an orthopaedic doctor and a native of Chittoor district in AP , J Ramakoteswara Rao from Krishna, Mohd Abdul Rahman Ali and Khaja Moizuddin, both from Nalgonda district of Telangana and Pallam Venkata Dass.
