Cops nab hashish peddler in Telangana

HYDERABAD: A 22-year-old who allegedly attempted to peddle hashish oil, was nabbed at Ibrahimpatnam on Saturday. Rachakonda police said that M Akhil was arrested, while his associate S Balaiah went absconding. They also seized 1.20 litres of hashish oil from his possession.

During the lockdown, Akhil got addicted to hashish. He realised that there was good profit in the illegal business and decided to become a peddler.

Using his contacts, Akhil came in touch with one Balaiah, a resident of Vizag, to supply him hashish oil. As Balaiah demanded 80,000 for a litre of oil, he pooled money from his friends and bought the contraband. He brought the drug in a a bus, police said.
