HYDERABAD: A large number of places in the city do not have bus shelters and majority of property registration offices of the government are located on the first floor of buildings which have no elevators, said All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen member Moazzam Khan.
He was bringing the issue to the notice of the government in the assembly on Friday, stating that senior citizens are facing severe inconvenience due to this.

“The absence of bus shelters on a large number of routes is making old-aged persons, women including those pregnant and the students wait for the buses in the hot sun or rain. Due to people consuming liquor outside permit rooms, families and women are feeling insecure,” said Khan and urged the ministers holding respective portfolios to solve these problems.
“Also, the government is yet to start the process of regularising the notarised properties. There are thousands of people who were shocked to learn that their applications for new ration cards were rejected. “These applicants were waiting for the officials to visit their homes for field verification. When they went to the offices to find out the delay in approving their ration card applications, officials told them that their applications have been rejected after field visits,” Moazzam Khan said.
