hyderabad: an 'open forum' was inaugurated at the 12th international film festival by minister for cinematography and home t devender goud on thursday. the forum was organised by the children's film society andhra pradesh in association with the andhra pradesh state film and television corporation. festival director p k nair said the forum would give children an opportunity to express their views and would help adults listen to their valuable ideas. "children's films are still not a priority for most film-makers and producers," he said.children's film society, andhra pradesh, chairman m veda kumar said the society would also try to hold a festival with a focus on asian children's films. the society has also set up a children's film resource centre with an aim to make short and meaningful children's films. he also requested the minister for all possible support for children's films form the government. the minister said the state will take all possible steps to ensure that production and marketing of children's films are commercially viable. the topic of discussion for the forum on thursday was 'importance of children's film festival and its relevance'. children raised the issue of lack of facilities to watch children's films after a festival gets over and also stressed the need for such films to be taken to the rural areas.
