VIJAYAWADA: AP
Mahila Congress
president
Sunkara Padmasri
said the Congress had extended support to the
Women's Reservation Bill
but the BJP was looking for ways to delay its passage.
Padmasri started a signature campaign for the immediate passage of Women's Reservation Bill, in Vijayawada on Sunday. Demanding ratification of the bill in Rajya Sabha, Padmasri said the BJP did not care for women. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi seems to have restricted himself to words. There is no positive action. Women should get reservation from panchayat-level to Parliament. All India Mahila Congress will take out a rally in the national capital for the reservation. We will meet the PM and submit all signatures,"Padmasri said.
She said the signature campaign will go on till August 25, which is the
birth anniversary
of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
