HYDERABAD: A two-day Indo-Japanese animation film festival for children, organised by the Children’s Film Society of AP at Ravindra Bharathi, was inaugurated on Tuesday.
Tourism and culture minister T Srinivas Yadav, who inaugurated the festival, offered to extend all help to the Society which made possible the first major animation film festival in Hyderabad.
Children’s Film Society (CFS), AP, chairman M Veda Kumar said the aim of the festival was to promote cultural exchange between Asian countries. The Society also plans to conduct an open forum after screening of films, where the children express their opinions about the films as well as clear their doubts regarding the different aspects of film production.
“We want all the studios in the city to associate with us so that the children of Hyderabad can have an opportunity to express themselves through animation films,� said Veda Kumar. Four animation films by Japanese director Koji Yamamura and 18 by noted Indian directors are being screened at the festival, which will conclude on March 5.
