The

Charminar Pedestrianisation project

is going on for ages now. When will Charminar and its surrounding area be beautified. Only the hawkers are put to hardships in the name of this project which remains eternally incomplete, he said.

Speaking during the discussion on the budget in the state assembly, the MIM member said the budget is allocated to Musi Beautification but the project remains incomplete. At a meeting attended by Municipal Minister KT Rama Rao and MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, the minister had talked about a tram project between Moazzam Jahi Market and Charminar. It has remained on paper, he said.

Referring to the budgetary allocations, the MIM legislator said Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Hyderabad metropolitan development Authority and

Quli Qutub Shah Urban Development Authority

have meted out a raw deal.

The GHMC had borrowed Rs 1300 crore to implement strategic road development programme (SRDP), comprehensive road development Project (CRDP) and development of link roads among various other projects. The GHMC had sought over Rs 2600 crore but the state government has not made adequate budgetary allocations, he said. Stating that only 6.8 lakh people affected with unprecedented floods in Greater Hyderabad were given financial assistance, Moazzam Khan said thousands of applications were pending with a large number of families yet to be covered with the financial assistance.
