Will deploy UP model: Basanagouda Patil Yatnal

HUBBALLI: Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, BJP legislator, on Monday said if BJP returns to the helm in Karnataka, it will replicate Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s model of “killing anti-Hindus and anti-nationals”. At a rally in Hireharakuni, Kundgol constituency, Yatnal said those who speak against Hinduism, or the nation will be “encountered”. Comparing the Gandhi family to “mixed vegetables”, he said today’s Congress does not belong to Mahatma Gandhi but to “fake Gandhis”.

“It involves products from Italy, India and another from the Khan family,” he said. Earlier in Hubballi, Yatnal challenged Congress to name Jagadish Shettar as their CM candidate if it has real affection for Lingayats. Yatnal said: “Yes, we did injustice to veteran BB Shivappa who sacrificed a lot for BJP and even offered his car to BS Yediyurappa to campaign for elections. It doesn’t mean BJP did the same with Shettar and Lingayats. Shettar made a big mistake by quitting BJP.”
