Pocso accused man, 26, found dead; family cries foul

Kalaburagi: A Pocso accused, who had allegedly married a minor girl, was found dead at Hulasagod village, Kalagi taluk, in Kalaburagi district, on Monday. The deceased is identified as Revanasiddappa Talakeri, 26. Villagers said that Talakeri, who was a tomtom driver, had an affair with a minor girl, who was his regular passenger. "Upon learning about his affair, his family elders took him to Hyderabad to work as a labourer. However, he took the girl to Hyderabad and married her there," they added. Ratagal police said that the girl's parents had filed a Pocso case against him. "Since the girl was a minor, he was arrested but was out on bail for two weeks," they added. Talakeri was seen hanging from a tree on the outskirts of Hulasagod village. However, his family members have alleged that he was murdered by the girl's family members. Police said they are investigating the case.
