GUWAHATI: Tamil Nadu governor

RN Ravi

on Wednesday resigned as interlocutor for the Naga peace process making way for former IB special director AK Mishra to take over as the sixth interlocutor for the country’s longest-running peace talks.

Mishra has taken charge as the new interlocutor and is expected to resume talks with all the Naga groups soon. Mishra has been holding informal talks since January this year after the NSCN (IM) refused to sit across the table with Ravi. The two parties fell out after Ravi refused to compromise on the NSCN (IM)’s demands for a separate Naga flag and constitution.
