Soon, checks in govt schools to boost teaching, learning skills
During the inspection, the teaching standards of every teacher will be monitored while students’ reports will also be examined, officials said. The use of mathematics & science kits, FLN material, workbooks, QR cards, NIPUN Ramlila, and other work kits will also be judged.
Besides, the inspection official will keep a check on various grants received by schools, their civil work as well as the mid day meal scheme. “The team will have to submit the report to the headquarters,” an education department official said. Each school will be given targets on the basis of facilities and capabilities. Distribution of curriculum, teachers’ diary, checking of lesson plan, results of examinations, teacher availability, preparation and distribution of food in midday meal scheme will be observed.
Suspended teacher arrested in Delhi for threatening education dept official
A 49-year-old teacher has been arrested for threatening a deputy director of the Delhi government's education department. The teacher had previously been suspended and allegedly went to the deputy director's home with a pistol to threaten him. The teacher claimed that his life had been ruined by the official. A case was registered, and the teacher was arrested while attempting to flee Delhi. A pistol was recovered from his possession.
Suspended teacher held for threatening education dept official in Delhi
A 49-year-old suspended teacher, identified as Sunil Kumar, was arrested by Delhi Police for allegedly threatening a deputy director in the education department. The deputy director had initiated a departmental inquiry against Kumar. The complainant stated that Kumar came to his home with a pistol to threaten him. Kumar was apprehended while trying to flee out of Delhi, and a pistol was recovered from his possession.
Worms found in midday meals supplied to Ponda school kids
Schools in the Savoi Verem, Volvoi, and Keri areas of Ponda taluka reported finding worms in their midday meals. The education department has requested a report on the incident and has asked for stop-gap arrangements to be made until an inquiry is completed. The contaminated food, which included pulao with soya bean chunks, was supplied by the Utkarsh Women's Self-Help Group. Samples of the food have been collected for testing by FDA officials. Parents are demanding strict action against those responsible for the neglect.
