Jhinda has sent his written resignation to Haryana governor, a copy of which has also been sent to Kurukshetra deputy commissioner (DC), he said.

In his resignation, Jhinda wrote, “I was appointed one of 38 members of HSGMC. I wish to resign willingly without any kind of pressure.”

The election of executive body including of president and other office-bearers of HSGMC is due on December 21, which will be conducted by Kurukshetra DC, as confirmed by him.

Speaking to the media at Yamunanagar, Jagdish Singh Jhinda accompanied by former HSGMC member Joga Singh said, “For the formation of HSGMC we have done big struggle for several years and even bear lathi-charge and went to jails. But the new ad-hoc panel of 38 members nominated by government has just nominated 4 persons from among those who struggled for HSGMC besides 4 old members, while the rest have been ignored.”

Jhinda said, “In 2014, Bhupinder Singh Hooda led government nominated 41 member ad-hoc panel of HSGMC, which comprised of 20 members recommended by us and the remaining were added by government. But this (Manohar Lal Khattar led) government has crossed all lines, as only four members who struggled for HSGMC and four who were also member in 2014, in total, eight members having past association with HSGMC have been nominated but the rest are new.”

Jhinda said he felt hurt with this decision of the government and he started receiving pressure from Sangat (community) that he should not be part of this government committee. “I was being questioned whether I am standing with government or with with Sangat. I cannot go against Sangat, therefore resigned from my membership”, said Jhinda.

Some former HSGMC members including Apar Sing, Joga Singh and others associated with struggle to form separate Gurdwara panel for Haryana state, who have not been nominated as members in new ad-hoc panel have expressed their resentment against the nominations by the government and threatened to even protest.

These leaders have accused the state government of ignoring leaders who struggled for HSGMC, “to adjust people close to MLAs and ministers”. Besides Jhinda, former senior vice president HSGMC Didar Singh Nalvi, and ex-president Baljit Singh Daduwal and five more associated with HSGMC have been nominated again as members, who are facing pressure to protest against government nominations.
