Dushyant Chautala’s ring ceremony to take place in Gurgaon

Dushyant Chautala is not just the MP from Hisar, but belongs to a rather illustrious political bloodline – he’s the son of politician Ajay Singh Chautala and the grandson of former Haryana chief minister Om Prakash Chautala. Now, that bloodline is set to be extended further with more power in the mix. Dushyant will soon be tying the knot with

Meghna Ahlawat

, the daughter of IPS officer,

IGP Paramjeet Ahlawat

. The wedding date will be decided after the roka ceremony on December 25 at Chautala House, and the engagement and ring ceremony on January 3 at an upscale hotel in Gurgaon. Sources say that the union is an arranged match, and Meghna is a History Honours graduate from DU’s Maitreyi College.

Since both the groom’s father and grandfather are serving out a ten-year prison sentence in the teachers’ recruitment scam case, it might seem like the nuptials would have to happen in their conspicuous absence. However, it looks like at least one of them will be able to bless the couple in person. Ajay Singh Chautala has been out on parole for a month starting November 28, and has sought the court’s permission to travel outside NCR to attend his son’s roka ceremony in Sirsa tomorrow.

While granting him parole, the court had restricted Ajay’s movement, directing him not to leave Delhi without permission from the concerned authorities. The family must be keeping its fingers crossed about permissions for the father of the groom coming through, or perhaps not, given that it’s a marriage that will have the blessings of both khadi and khaki?
