20 government session sites to be set up for Covid jabs today

Gurgaon: The health department will set up 20 vaccine

session sites

in the city and 63 teams will carry out door-to-door drive on Sunday.

Of these 20 session sites, first and second doses of Covishield will be administered at 17 sites, while second doses of Covaxin will be available at three health centres.

According to a health department official, the door-to-door vaccination has improved the coverage. “We have also introduced morning sessions from 7am to 2pm and evening sessions from 5pm to 7pm at our vaccination sites to increase the coverage. These sessions have been arranged considering the working population, some of whom will find it convenient to get vaccinated early in the morning and some after 5pm,” said Dr MP Singh, district immunisation officer, Gurgaon.

The health department and private hospitals on Saturday inoculated 6,793 people at 95 session sites. Out of these, 6,263 people in the age group of 18 to 44 years were inoculated; 520 people aged above 45 years while four healthcare and six frontline workers were vaccinated.

Meanwhile, Gurgaon on Saturday reported seven new cases of Covid-19. With this, the tally has increased to 1,81,666 and the number of active cases is now 62.
