Gurgaon: Two people have been booked for allegedly thrashing and robbing a woman lawyer, four days after the alleged robbery took place. The woman has identified the two as Chandan Kumar, a resident of Saket in Delhi, and Om Prakash.
An FIR has been lodged against the two at the Sector 29 police station under sections 379-B (snatching and use of force) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC.
Kanchan Bala, a resident of Gurgaon, who claimed to be a Supreme Court advocate, alleged the incident took place near IFFCO Chowk Metro station on Sunday evening when she was returning home from Delhi. Without explaining how she knew the names of the snatchers, she said Chandan and Om tried to snatch her bag and when she resisted, one of them thrashed her and made off with her bag.
The bag had a Supreme Court entry card, All India Bar Council card, voter ID card, debit/credit cards and other valuables, Bala said.
"We received a complaint on Wednesday and lodged an FIR. We are verifying the facts," said ASI Vinod Kumar, the investigating officer.
