The government also proposed to lay a new optical fibre cable network across the state worth Rs 725 crore with the Centre’s assistance.

Chief minister Pramod Sawant said that introducing ‘e-Office’ software will reduce the cost of stationery and save trees. He said that the ‘Har Ghar Fibre’ scheme will provide high-speed internet connectivity to rural households.

The budget proposed to set up Sea Hubs at 12 locations to encourage IT engineers and tech freelancers to work from anywhere.

Collateral-free term loans at nominal interest rates will be offered through EDC to entrepreneurs in villages to set up Common Service Centres.

To provide initial capital to IT startups, loans will be provided under the Chief Minister’s Rozgar Yojana without the need for a government guarantor.
