Sports tech firm Quidich expands to Goa
Panaji: Sports Tech firm Quidich Innovation Labs, which provided augmented reality services for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 and the IPL, has set up shop in Goa. The company, which has offices in Mumbai, London, and Dubai, has opened an office at Merces with 30 employees.
Quidich provides special camera services and drone-based sports coverage using augmented reality and real-time player tracking.
“Quidich expanded by launching our Innovation Labs in May. Our Goa Innovation Lab aims to not only develop cutting-edge technologies to enhance fan engagement but also to create new job opportunities for the future. We are proud to have talents from Goa on our team and look forward to continued growth,” said Rahat Kulshreshtha, co-founder of Quidich Innovation Labs.
Kulshreshtha said one of the key reasons for starting operations in Goa was due to the state’s ability to foster creativity and innovation. He said that the IT department provided “robust support” to enable the expansion in Goa.
Minister for information technology, electronics and communications Rohan Khaunte visited the office at Merces, where he discussed ways to position Goa as a destination for innovation.
“We introduced the ‘Drone Policy 2022’ to foster a flourishing drone ecosystem promoting and incentivising drone design, manufacturing, testing, and maintenance along with training, thus making Goa a drone manufacturing hub. Our focus is on leveraging Goa’s unique environment to maximise the potential of drones in various sectors, ultimately driving significant economic growth and development in our state,” said Khaunte.
