Rajasthan criminal lives as tourist in Goa, nabbed

CALANGUTE: Salman Mohammed, a notorious criminal from Rajasthan who was at large and living as a tourist in Goa, was arrested by Calangute police on Thursday and handed over to police from Rajasthan.

Calangute PI Paresh Naik said they received information from their counterparts in Rajasthan that the 32-year-old accused, a resident of Kota, who was wanted in a case involving firearms, was residing at Calangute after having arrived as a tourist.

“The accused person was involved in a serious crime committed in Rajasthan using firearms in which an offence has been registered at Nayapur police station. The Rajasthan police have been on the hunt for him. He was at large after the crime and was successfully traced by Calangute police,” Naik said.
