Margao assets among those attached by ED in Goa, Maha

Panaji: The Enforcement Directorate (ED), Nagpur, on May 31 provisionally attached movable and immovable assets located across several places in Goa and Maharashtra, including Margao. The assets, valued at Rs 38.3 crore, were attached under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, in the multi-level marketing scam involving Shreesurya Investments (Sameer Joshi).

Movable (fixed deposits) and immovable assets acquired by Joshi, his companies/firms, and his co-accused agents/accomplices have been attached.

The ED initiated an investigation on the basis of an FIR registered by Nagpur police which said that Joshi defrauded and entrapped innocent public by promising exorbitant returns under various schemes.
