‘Let EDM festival move to Gujarat’

Margao: Politicians and activists have joined the chorus of voices opposing Sunburn, an electronic dance music festival. It is scheduled in South Goa in the month of Dec.

Radharao Gracias, a lawyer and social activist, told state govt to shift the festival to Gujarat, the home state of the Prime Minister instead of holding it in Goa.

“If the Sunburn is really good and is worth it, let it be shifted to Gujarat where a lot of development has taken place, because it doesn’t make sense to bring it here when we don’t want it. BJP thinks that Goans are sitting ducks waiting for them to come and shoot at us. That’s not how it is,” Gracias said.

“I am pretty sure the entire state of Goa is opposed to Sunburn. And in South Goa, people will take to the streets to oppose it,” he said. Velim MLA Cruz Silva and Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas have also voiced their opposition to Sunburn as they said the event happens “for drugs alone”. tnn
