Hill cuttings will be strictly monitored: TCP minister
Panaji: The town and country planning department is closely monitoring instances of hill-cutting and is ready to crack down on violations, minister Vishwajit Rane told a local news channel on Thursday.
He said that no permissions are being given for hill-cutting. He also said that clearances for green buildings will be simplified, while certification from the Indian Green Building Council will be made mandatory for buildings that have more than 250 FSI.
“Green certification and points for green buildings will be streamlined so that more concessions can be given to buildings that are 100% green,” said Rane. “The TCP board had earlier approved this, but it will be strictly monitored now. Unless the building is 100% complete, no occupancy certificate will be given for any structure,” said Rane.
He was speaking after chairing a board meeting of the TCP department. At the meeting, the TCP board permitted a higher FAR for the male hostel of the GMC, while also offering additional concessions for the construction of the hostel and other allied infrastructure.
Rane said that soon, it will be mandatory for large residential colonies to appoint paramedics. He said that as per the rules amended in the assembly, occupancy certificates for such colonies will be subject to this compliance.
“Paramedics will be made compulsory to reduce the emergency time in buildings having more than 50 flats,” said Rane.
