‘Constitutional right to do business hurt’

Panaji: Goa Technology Association (GTA) said in a statement that the reckless cutting of internet lines had severely disrupted essential services for thousands of residents and businesses across the state.

The association has demanded an immediate suspension of these actions until the court case is concluded.

“The unilateral cutting of fibre optic cables infringes upon the constitutional right to carry on business, disrupts essential services, and harms businesses and residents,” said GTA president Sujeet Shetty.

GTA’s founder president Mangirish Salelkar demanded that accountability be fixed for the fiasco.

“Total blackout! Who is responsible? Why do Goans have to suffer? It’s disappointing that while we aspire to make Goa a tech hub and travel destination, the very foundation — reliable internet — remains unstable,” said Salelkar.
