Three persons wanted by the Gujarat police for an armed robbery in Kutch were nabbed by Calangute police on Saturday night, one from Candolim and two from an offshore casino in Panaji.

CALANGUTE: Three persons wanted by the Gujarat police for an armed robbery in Kutch were nabbed by Calangute police on Saturday night, one from Candolim and two from an offshore casino in Panaji.
The three allegedly shot and injured a businessman from Apna Nagar, Gandhidham, Gujarat, on January 29 and fled with Rs 40 lakh from his possession. They had been absconding since then.
On the same day, the Gandhidham A division police station registered an offence on charges of criminal conspiracy, attempt to murder and robbery under sections 120-B, 394, 397, 447 and 307 of the IPC, and also the Arms Act.

During investigations, the Gujarat police found that the accused had been staying in Calangute since Friday and informed the Calangute police on Saturday.
Calangute police then swung into action. A team led by police inspector (PI) Dattaguru Sawant initially apprehended Manu Singh Thakor near the Candolim football ground on Saturday.
During interrogation, Thakor revealed that the other two accused were on an offshore casino.
A team of the Calangute police along with the team of the crime branch, Kutch (east), were sent to Panaji, where they successfully traced the two accused, Chatrapal Singh and Surat Singh, Calangute PI Sawant said.
The Gujarat police team is headed by sub-inspector S S Varu, who later took custody of all three accused to proceed to Gujarat.
