Ghaziabad: Although the police have not made a single arrest more than 24 hours after the daring attack on BJP leader Brijpal Teotia, seven persons have been taken into custody for questioning. Those taken into custody include a woman constable of UP Police, Sunita Singh, apart from two men, Manoj Kumar and Shekhar Chaudhary, who are residents of Teotia's native village, Mehrauli.
Sunita, who is posted in Baghpat district of western UP, is the widow of a western UP gangster, Rakesh Hasanpuriya, who had been gunned down in a police encounter six years ago.
"Sunita could have orchestrated the attack on Teotia on Thursday. Teotia is widely believed to have been the police informer that led to the encounter in which Hasanpuriya had been killed," said a police officer.
