FARIDABAD: Faridabad Police have arrested two men in connection with the murder of a 45-year-old woman in Sector 62.
According to an official statement made on Saturday, the prime suspect, who happens to be the brother-in-law of the victim's daughter, admitted to committing the murder as an act of retribution for his mother's death.
The victim, identified as Rani, was stabbed 30 times, within the Housing Board Colony of Sector 62, earlier in the week.
After Rani's daughter lodged a complaint, the authorities initiated an FIR against two potential suspects, which led to the subsequent arrests. The DLF crime branch took into custody the main suspect, Gaurav, a resident of Sunped in Tigaon, and his accomplice, Akash, hailing from Kaili Chowk.
Gaurav's confession detailed the distressing background of the case, indicating that his father, Jogendra, had been involved in a romantic relationship with Rani for the past year. The situation escalated into domestic disputes when Gaurav's mother discovered the affair, ultimately resulting in her tragic death due to shock three months ago, as per Faridabad Police spokesperson Sube Singh.
In an attempt to avenge his mother's untimely demise, Gaurav, in collaboration with Akash, carried out the murder of Rani her. The accused individuals will be presented before a court and are expected to be taken into police custody to facilitate the recovery of the murder weapon, the motorcycle used during the crime, and the clothes worn at the time of the incident, Singh said.
