FARIDABAD: Two bike-borne youths were injured after a speeding Mercedes, which had earlier collided with a BMW, hit their motorcycle from behind on the Delhi-Agra NH, police said on Wednesday.
One of the injured youths, Rakesh said they were heading home when their motorcycle was hit by the speeding car.
The incident took place late Tuesday night. After the crash, both car drivers fled the spot.
According to an eyewitness, Ramsharan, he was returning from Palwal when he saw two cars speeding near Escorts Mujesar Metro Station and then witnessed the collision moments later.
“A white BMW and a black Mercedes were speeding on the highway. The black Mercedes was in front, while the white BMW was behind. The Mercedes struck a motorcycle from behind, causing it to fall off the road,” he said.
Some eyewitnesses also claimed that the drivers appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
Police reached the spot shortly after the accident and removed the damaged vehicles using a crane, restoring traffic flow.
Police have seized both vehicles.
