OPS birthday celebrated in Erode

SALEM: Supporters of former AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam on Saturday cut a cake weighing 72kg to celebrate their leader’s 72nd birthday. They also raised slogans supporting OPS.

Around 150 supporters of Panneerselvam attended the cake cutting event that was organized near the Salem new bus stand on the day. Former AIADMK spokesperson Va Pugazhendi participated as the chief guest and cut the cake in the presence of urban and district party secretary N Dinesh, who was appointed by OPS, and others.

Talking to the media, Pugazhendi said they were happy with the Supreme Court’s stand in the AIADMK case. “It neither supported Edappadi K Palaniswami nor OPS during the trial. The apex court has been neutral and asking questions to both of them. I am confident that the case would end in favour of OPS.”

He also attacked EPS for attempting to become the general secretary of the party forgetting MGR and Amma, who held the post earlier. “He convened the general body meeting in an urgent manner only because of his desire for the position.”
