ERODE: State health and family welfare minister Ma Subramanian on Sunday issued a warning against private hospitals that refuse to accept patients under the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance scheme.
Speaking to reporters after inaugurating a paid ward at the Government headquarters Hospital in Erode on Sunday, the minister said, “We have 20 rooms in the paid ward at the hospital.”
The minister said the hospital would be equipped with a CT scan, MRI, and CATH lab by next year.
Due to the presence of tanneries and dyeing units, approximately 50 new cancer cases have been identified at the government cancer diagnosis centre. “These patients are currently receiving treatment at the centre, and we are optimistic about their full recovery and return home soon,” the minister expressed.
Tamil Nadu housing and urban development minister S Muthusamy, district collector Rajagopal Sunkara and several others were present.
