ERODE: The AIADMK-BJP alliance is against the interests of Tamil people, DMK youth wing leader and state sports minister Udhayanidhi Stalin said on Monday.Accompanied by Elangovan, Udhayanidhi addressed the public at Ganapathi Nagar, Narayanavalasu, Palanimalai street, Kamala Nagar, Pumping Station Road, Veerappanchatram Pond, Agraharam and Gandhi Nagar in the city on Monday.
Campaigning for Congress candidate E V K S Elangovan in Erode East, he showed a photograph of the vacant land - the site of AIIMS - in Madurai and alleged that the Centre had not begun the construction of the hospital yet. He also took out a brick from his campaign vehicle and said the brick was only a piece of 'construction activity' done on the site."BJP president J P Nadda said 90% of the work was over for AIIMS. But all they have done is only this," he said, showing the brick. "On the other hand, the DMK government has completed several projects in 18 months," he said, showing photos of a multi-specialty hospital in Chennai and Kalaignar's library in Madurai.
Referring to AIADMK interim general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami's challenge to chief minister M K Stalin "not to lock voters in sheds if he was man enough," Udhayanidhi said EPS was not worthy of saying so. "EPS got the CM post by kneeling and crawling towards the feet of V K Sasikala," he said.
