Three held for alleged railway job scam
New Delhi: Delhi Police has apprehended three people in connection with an alleged railway job scam and are probing the possible involvement of Railway Department employees.
The case came to light after a complaint alleging that a man was cheated on the promise of securing a permanent job in the railways. DCP (Railways) B Bomma Reddy said the complainant was asked to contact one of the suspects, a woman, and ask her to come to the Old Delhi Railway Station to collect the remaining amount allegedly demanded for the job. Acting on the tip-off, police apprehended the woman, identified as Isha, from Chandni Chowk.
Based on her interrogation, Ranjeet was detained from ISBT Kashmere Gate and Alam from the Old Delhi Railway Station.
Police said Isha and Ranjeet collected Rs 3.6 lakh from the complainant and transferred the money to Alam.
“Further investigation revealed that Alam was in contact with Atul Kadam and AK Khan, who claimed to have access to Baroda House and Rail Bhawan,” police said.
