South Delhi's Nehru Place skywalk: A marvel for pedestrians​

The Nehru Place skywalk is nearing completion and likely to open by March 2024.

Big relief for people

Once the skywalk is open, people needn’t climb down from the elevated station and cross the bustling Astha Kunj Road in order to reach the Nehru Place district centre.

Work almost finished

According to DDA, the construction of the skywalk is almost finished and work is in progress to connect it with the metro station. They have already laid the granite floor of the skywalk and put up the steel railings.

Restoration work​

The restoration involves the enhancement of building facades, the improvement of the drainage and sewer system, the installation of tiles and seating in the public plaza, and the complete overhaul of staircases.

DDA revamp project​

The DDA initiated the overall upgrade in December 2019, following approval from the erstwhile South Delhi Municipal Corporation.

New toilet on complex

The plan additionally involves construction of 10 new toilet blocks within the complex.

Multi-level car parking facility​

In order to streamline parking arrangements in the area, work on a multi-level car parking facility is underway, with an expected completion date of March 31, 2024.

Escalator planned

As far as the skywalk is concerned, provisions have been made for an escalator and an elevator.

With no shelter from sun,people would prefer walking in shade and this skywalk will be empty and will become a place for all anti social elements
