NEW DELHI: Lieutenant governor Anil Baijal reviewed a meeting on the vacancy of

teachers

in the

schools

under the

Directorate of Education

(DoE).

Baijal told the directorate on Monday, to expedite the recruitment process and also complete the filling of vacancies in promotional posts. Baijal directed the secretary, education, Delhi government, to review the matter on a weekly basis in coordination with the chairperson of Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board to personally monitor the pendency and timeline. It was decided at the meeting that the education department would hold regular direct promotional cases (DPC’s) and amend the recruitment rules (RRs) as per changing needs, as necessary.

The meeting was attended by chairperson, DSSSB/secretary, services, secretary, education and director, education. In this regard, a detailed presentation was made by the director, education, on various aspects of vacancy position, pending requisitions and dossiers and status of RRs at all levels.

Director, education, submitted that the entire process shall be completed by October, 2019. Baijal directed that regular DPC’s should be held to fill the vacancies of departmental promotion quota. The issue of RR’s was discussed and it was advised that the RRs should be suitably amended as per changing needs, wherever necessary. Further, the education department was advised to followup the matters pending due to court cases for early disposal.
