Mega swachh campaign on Modi b’day

inaugurated a sanitation drive on Saturday, PM Narendra Modi’s birthday. The mega-drive which was initiated by distributing dustbins in Kanti Nagar will continue till October 31.

The corporation has constituted four central teams to monitor the drive. The chairman of standing committee Jeetendra Chaudhary said, “The plans for the drive were already in pipeline and that the corporation was not waiting for the PM’s birthday to launch the drive”.

Chaudhary also said that the drive’s aim was to further improve the sanitation conditions. He said that despite East Delhi being densely populated, the menace of dengue and chikungunya is less in the area. He added the corporation has procured 64 new fogging machines and 6 more TIFFA machines for the drive.

Sanitation work during the drive would be monitored by the mayor Satya Sharma, while fogging work would be looked after by Chaudhary and Sanjay Jain. During the inauguration Shrama said that this sanitation drive is being presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday.
