Early Operations and Initial Response

Services began on October 21, 2023, with a 17-km stretch between Sahibabad and Duhai Depot, recording over 72,000 passengers in the first month, indicating strong initial public interest.

Expansion Boosted Usage Gradually

Phased expansion to Modinagar North and Meerut South through 2024 steadily increased ridership, with monthly passenger numbers reaching around seven lakh by December, highlighting the impact of improved connectivity.

Delhi Section Improved Connectivity

The addition of the 13-km Delhi stretch enhanced access through key hubs like Anand Vihar, helping the system reach one crore journeys by May 2025 and significantly boosting commuter numbers.

Final Stretch Accelerated Ridership

With the last 26-km section operational in February 2026, monthly ridership surged to nearly 27 lakh in March, crossing three crore journeys within five months of reaching two crore trips.
